Why Performance Tennis Training Is About Much More Than Having Tennis Lessons and Hitting Tennis Balls

When tennis parents or players think about improving at tennis and getting better results, the first thought is often simple:

Spend more time on court.

Practice More hours. Hit More Balls. Play More matches and participate in as many tournaments as possible.

While practice and Competing is essential for development, experience has shown us that simply spending more hours on court, hitting more tennis balls, and competing every week rarely leads to long-term development and better performance, in fact it is the opposite. The tennis players who continue to improve year after year are those who develop every part of their game - not just their serve, forehand or backhand.

Technical ability alone isn’t enough to compete at a high level in any sport including tennis.

The modern game of tennis demands speed, footwork and movement, tactical awareness, physical strength, endurance, emotional resilience and the ability to stay focused and make right decisions under pressure. These qualities are developed only through a structured, purposeful training process.

That philosophy is exactly why we at GAdzhikov Performance Tennis created our Performance Tennis Training Camp.

Delivered in Collaboration with Our Official Partner

We are delighted to deliver this Performance Tennis Training Camp in collaboration with our official partner, MLTennis, providing a world-class performance training program at

Oxford City Lawn Tennis Club.

Throughout the week, the players will have the opportunity to train under our signature Comprehensive Tennis Performance Development System based on a proven Training Method that integrates Technical, Tactical, Footwork, Physical, Mental development and Recovery within a structured high-performance training environment.

Together, we are committed to delivering a performance training experience that inspires young players to develop their tennis and athletic skills, build necessary foundation and confidence in order to maximise their potential both on and off the court.

A Different Approach to Tennis Player Development

The camp is based on our Comprehensive Tennis Performance Development System, which has been designed for ambitious tennis players aged 12 and above who are committed to becoming the best possible version of themselves.

Rather than focusing on just one area of development, we integrate every component that contributes to better performance.

Over five days, players complete

15 hours of intensive performance training, combining:

Every session has a clear structure and purpose, helping the players to understand not only how to perform a specific skill but also when, why, and under what pressure to use it.

Train Like a High-Performance Athlete, According Your Age and Stage of Development

Unlike traditional tennis camps that focus mainly on hitting balls and playing games, our Comprehensive Training Program develops complete Tennis Players.

Every training session is built around an Age-appropriate training model, ensuring every Tennis Player develops the right skills at the right stage of their Physical, Technical, and Cognitive development. Technical development, Physical conditioning, and the Specific Footwork training are carefully integrated with Tactical and Mental performance, allowing the players to transfer what they learn into realistic match-play situations. By training in a structured Performance and competitive environment, the players build correct technical habits, confidence and develop a high-performance mindset, while improving their decision-making skills and building the resilience needed to perform consistently under pressure.

Developing Complete Tennis Athletes, Not Just Ball Hitters

One of the biggest differences between recreational coaching and performance coaching is the way the training process is connected.

When it comes down to competition, tennis strokes cannot be separated from the player movement on the court, resilience and physical capacity, mental strength,  decision-making or confidence. Every single tennis stroke begins with footwork. Every tactical decision is influenced by the player's physical condition in the present moment. Every important point challenges the tennis player’s mental strength.

For that reason, our performance training program brings together all six areas of development into one structured program.

Tennis Players learn how to move more efficiently, recover faster between points, make better tactical decisions under pressure and compete with greater confidence.

The result is not only improved performance during the training camp, but establishing habits that continue to benefit the players long afterwards.

What Does a Typical Training Day Look Like?

Our camp runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am–12:00 pm.

Each day includes:

Every element builds upon the previous one, creating a progressive learning experience throughout the entire week.

Why Competitive Small Groups Matter

One of the reasons players improve quicker during our camps is the

maximum 3:1 player-to-coach ratio.

Smaller training groups ensure that every tennis player receives continuous feedback, individual attention, precise technical corrections, and coaching that is tailored to their current level and stage of development.

Instead of simply feeding balls and making the players run around, our coaches build up patterns of play, observe player mechanical and technical movements, analyze and guide tactically every player throughout each session, helping them make meaningful improvements.

Who Is the Camp Designed For?

The GAdzhikov Performance Tennis Training Camp is ideal for:

  • Competitive Junior Tennis Players aged 12 and above.

  • Tennis Players competing at county, regional, national or international level.

  • Tennis Players preparing for college tennis.

  • Athletes transitioning from junior to professional tennis.

  • Professional players looking to refine their current performance.

More Than a Tennis Camp

Our goal has never been to create just another holiday Tennis Camp.

Our aim is to provide a Performance Training environment where ambitious Tennis Players learn what exactly is the Performance training process and how high-performance athletes prepare, train and compete.( Tailored to their age and stage of development)

By combining Technical, Tactical, Footwork, Physical, Mental development, Recovery and Evaluation within one Comprehensive Performance Tennis Development System, we ensure all tennis players build the complete foundation required for long-term success in tennis.

Complimentary access to the Performance resources

Every participant in the camp will receive complimentary access to our Performance Resources for the duration of the program. These resources provide an insight into what it takes to develop as a performance tennis player, from analyzing training sessions and match performances to understanding the importance of sleep, nutrition, recovery, and preparation.

Participants will also have access to an extensive video library with instructional content designed to support their pre-training and competition routines and post-practice or match recovery.

Becoming a better Tennis Player is not the result of one training session or one tournament. It comes through consistent effort, quality training process, structured planning, and continuous learning. Players who review their performances, track their progress, and train with clear plan and purpose give themselves the best opportunity to reach their maximum potential.

Our Performance Resources provide the knowledge, tools, and guidance to support every stage of that journey, helping players become stronger, smarter, and more complete competitors.
